Bob’s Key Lime Pie

This is Bob & Linda Miller’s Key lime pie !! We just had it on Christmas and it was awesome.
Filling:
4 egg yolks
1 (14-oz can) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup key lime juice, divided
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 and 1/4 cups whipping cream whipped with the 1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp vanilla
1 9″ graham cracker pie shell
Beat egg yolk until light in color. Beat in can of milk,then stir in 1/4 cup of lime juice, cream of tartar, then remaining 1/4 cup of lime juice. Mix well.
Pour into baked shell and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until filling sets. When pie has completely cooled, spread whipping cream topping over pie. Serve chilled.
Pie Shell: Combine 1 and 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs, 1/3 cup sifted confectioners sugar, and 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter , melted and cooled. Press into 9 inch pie plate and bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees until it is light brown.
